Field Trips
Connect Your Class to Nevada’s History
Bring your students to the Nevada State Museum, Carson City for a hands-on learning experience aligned with Nevada’s K-12 Academic Content Standards in Social Studies and Science.
All school field trips include free admission for students. One (1) adult is free for every ten (10) students. Any additional adults are required to pay the $10 admission fee, unless they are members of any one of the institutions in the Division of Museums & History.

Field Trip Guidelines
- Field trips available Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays
- Groups visiting can begin any time after 9:00 AM
- Groups must be supervised at all times (1 adult per 10 students)
Booking Your Field Trip
- All school field trips require a reservation
- Booking for the 2026-2027 school year opens July 31, 2026
- To receive a notification when booking opens, email nsmeducation@nevadaculture.org
Groups visiting the Nevada State Museum will be welcomed at the entrance with a brief orientation. Entry is limited to 60 students at a time, and all students must remain under the supervision of teachers or designated chaperones throughout the visit. Visit our Field Trip FAQs for more information.

Confirming Your Reservation
Once your field trip is approved, you will receive a Field Trip Confirmation & Guidelines packet. All participating educators and chaperones must review and agree to these guidelines in order to confirm their booking. You are responsible for your group’s compliance and the distribution of the guideline’s information.
Enhance Your Visit
Guided tours and staff-led activities (for groups of 60 or fewer) are available and must be requested during your initial reservation with three weeks advance notice. Bus Transportation Reimbursement Available
Nevada public schools may be eligible for bus reimbursement to visit a state museum. Funds are limited and distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. For details, email nsmeducation@nevadaculture.org or click here.

Request printable worksheets when making your reservation. Our Self-Guided Tour Worksheets are designed to meet Nevada Academic Content Standards and adaptable to any grade-level.
