Coin Press No. 1 Demonstrations

Demonstrations of Coin Press No. 1 in the historic Carson City Mint happen every Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
On minting days, visitors may purchase a voucher for a half-ounce .999 fine silver planchet in the Museum Store and watch it be struck on Coin Press No. 1. While waiting for their newly minted Medallion, visitors can listen to knowledgeable docents give a detailed history of the press and the Carson City Mint. Planchet voucher sales begin at 11 a.m. on Saturdays. Already minted medallions can also be purchased in the Store six days a week, Tuesday-Sunday, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
