Demonstrations of Coin Press No. 1 inside the historic Carson City Mint will occur Friday, Saturday and Sunday, May 10-12, 2024 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day throughout the Mark Twain Days Festival weekend.
Visitors may purchase a voucher for a half-ounce .999 fine silver planchet in the Museum Store and watch it be struck on Coin Press No. 1. While waiting for their newly minted Medallion to be pressed, visitors can listen to knowledgeable docents give a detailed history of the storied press and the Carson City Mint.
Planchet sales begin at 11 a.m. Medallions already minted can also be purchased in the store from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
