NEVADA’S CHANGING EARTH

Nevada’s Changing Earth, displays over 300 examples of rocks and minerals from Nevada and the western United States. One case alone has more than 180 specimens ranging from a Smoky Quartz crystal nearly 2 feet long and 11 inches wide to examples of native copper, silver, and gold. Other cases display specimens from throughout the geologic history of Nevada. Fossils that can be seen here include horn coral, ammonites up to 3 feet long, a replica ichthyosaur, petrified and opalized wood, and replicas of a mammoth and a horse.
