History Hot Takes: An Evening for the Chronically Curious
October 29 @ 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Are you stuck in a rut? Don’t know what to do on the last Thursday of the month? Then come on down to History Hot Takes: An Evening for the Chronically Curious, where we will have the best of the best speakers blowing your mind with their history knowledge!
This month’s event: Dust to Dust in the Desert: Stories from Nevada’s Graves & Cemeteries by Tami Force
Nevada’s cemeteries are full of names that don’t quite match the ground beneath them. A “maiden” who wasn’t one. A famous grave with nobody in it. A whole burial ground packed up by men who called themselves Official Ghouls. A nameless man whose stone only records what he ate. An outlaw whose marker misspells his name and gets the year wrong.
This talk follows those stones across the state—emigrant trails, boomtown yards, and lonely desert plots—and the stories that stuck even when the bodies, the names, or the cemeteries themselves did not.
Admission: $15 per person ages 18 and up, free for ages 17 and under, and free for Members.
