February 23, 2023 @ 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm

Nevada isn’t the first state a person thinks of when daydreaming about dinosaurs. Oftentimes, we think of places like Montana, Wyoming, or Utah, which have had rich dinosaur discoveries for many years. Nevada’s dinosaur story is more recent. Over the past 20 years, a multi-institution team, including the Nevada State Museum, has been diligently working on figuring out Nevada’s part in this story. As a result of the work, we now have a record of dinosaurs and other land animals which spans the entire Mesozoic from the Triassic through the Cretaceous. And work is on-going! Just this past year, the team introduced Nevadadromeus schmitti to the world, Nevada’s first new dinosaur to science. Hear about the discoveries, what’s been found, and what’s in store for the future!
This lecture will be presented in person and on Zoom. Admission is $10 for adults, members and children age 17 and under are free.
