Dia de Los Muertos 2024
- This event has passed.
November 2, 2024 @ 10:00 am - 3:00 pm
Celebrate the Nevada State Museum’s biggest cultural event of the year on Saturday, November 2, 2024 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. with campus-wide live entertainment and activities. Dia de Los Muertos (“Day of the Dead”) is a traditional Mexican festival that remembers loved ones who have passed on with music, dancing, feasting, storytelling and offerings to departed spirits! The celebration combines elements of Spanish Catholicism introduced in the 16th Century with customs of the ancient Aztec civilization.
This year the Brewery Arts Center will offer an evening concert from 5-7 p.m. as part of Dia de Los Muertos. Admission to the Museum is free all-day Saturday in honor of Dia de Los Muertos. Enjoy storytelling through folk dance and music, ofrendas, arts and crafts, face painting, street food and treats. Latino Arte and Raices del Fuego return this year to tell the story of Dia de Los Muertos in their own special ways!
