Coin Press Demonstrations
Demonstrations of Coin Press No. 1 in the Historic Carson City Mint will take place every Saturday from 11 AM to 3 PM. Call to find out which medallion is being struck. For more information contact Holly Payson at (775) 687-4810 ext. 222 On minting days, visitors may purchase a .999 fine silver planchet in the museum store, take it to the Coiner, and watch it struck on Coin Press No. 1. They are also for sale in the museum store, while supplies last. Phone orders for medallions may also be placed by calling the store at 775 687 4810, ext 234. All medallions are struck on Coin Press No. 1. Be sure to ask about the limited edition 1870 CC Half Dollar replica, using silver from a Nevada mine. This is a special medallion to commemorate Mint 150, the sesquicentennial of the Mint and Coin Press No. 1. All medallions are struck on Coin Press No. 1 and mounted in a card noting its series number. Admission is $8 for adults and free for members and children age 17 and under.
