Lei Day 2023
Lei Making Contest
The Nevada State Museum will be celebrating Lei Day on Saturday, April 29, and we invite the public to participate in our first lei making contest. There will be two categories: adult traditional (made from natural plant materials) and youth non-traditional (made from yarn, ribbon, paper, or fabric). The theme will be the color red, to honor the island of Hawai`i. For the adult contest, the awards are $100 for first place and $50 for second place. For the youth contest, the awards are $75 for first place and $25 for second place. The rules for the Lei Contest can be found below. Lei Contest forms, which are required for entry, will be available on this page in March. We look forward to seeing everyone’s creativity! Mahalo (thank you)!
