Description

Every Saturday from 11:00 am – 3:00 pm there will be demonstrations on Historic Coin Press No. 1.

Starting Saturday, February 27th we will be striking the limited-edition Promontory Car Commemorative Medallion. Featuring Coach No. 17, the only piece of rolling stock still in existence that was at the 1869 Promontory Summit Ceremony, the medallion commemorates the completion of the Transcontinental Railroad. Medallions can be purchased in the museum store for $75. If you come on Saturday you can see your medallion minted just for you on a half ounce, .999 fine silver blank.

Museum admission is required to watch demonstrations. Admission is $8 for adults and free for members and children age 17 and younger.
