12:00 pm-4:00 pm Coin Press No. 1 Demonstrations in the Historic Carson City mint building. You can purchase a silver planchet and have it minted in front of you. Planchets are one half ounce .999 fine silver.
1:00 pm 1870 Mint Building Tour led by Robert Nylen, Curator of History.
2:00 pm Lecture “From Mine to Mint” by Robert Nylen. He will share and discuss a few artifacts from the Nevada State Museum collection that represent some of the steps in the journey that ore from Comstock mines took to become CC coins struck in the Carson City Mint. Space limited sign up when you arrive.
Admission is $8 for adults and free for members and children age 17 and under.
