Description

October 31, 2021 will be the 80th anniversary of the opening of the Nevada State Museum. As part of the birthday celebrations there will be a lecture on Thursday, October 28th chronicling the interesting things that have happened here over the years. Arrival of notable collections, expansion of facilities, installation of exhibits, and honors received. We will celebrate one of Nevada’s oldest museums and it’s story of preserving and sharing the natural and cultural heritage of the Silver State. Join us as we wish it another 80 years of service to Nevadans and enjoy the new “The Nevada State Museum Turns 80!” exhibit.

Curator of Education, Mina Stafford has been working closely with recently retired Curator of History Bob Nylen to make this story come to life.
