Description

Bees, Bats, and Butterflies: What’s the Buzz on Pollinators?

Many plants are pollinated when different insects, birds, and even bats fly among flowers feeding on pollen or nectar. As these animals move around they transmit pollen between flowers. Without these helpers, many beautiful and commercially important plants would not be able to reproduce. Flowers and their pollinators have adapted many behaviors and physical structures to enable this to occur. The Nevada State Museum invites you to Curator’s Corner “Bees, Bats, and Butterflies: What’s the Buzz on Pollinators?” to view specimens of pollinators that can be found in Nevada and learn about the fascinating interaction between these plants and the animals that assist them.

Visitors can enjoy this brief program in the Nevada State Museum Concourse.
