Happy Chinese New Year!

In collaboration with the Children’s Museum of Northern Nevada we will be celebrating Chinese New Year on Saturday, February 9th at 10:00 am. In the Dema Guinn Concourse we will host Sonia Carlson and her dancers as they perform traditional Chinese dances. This program was supported, in part, by the  , a state agency, which receives support from the , a federal agency.

We will also have Nevada Chinatown related objects from our collection on display.

At 10:00 am we will start making Chinese noise makers to help celebrate the New Year, at 10:15 am the dancers will perform in the Dema Guinn Concourse, at 11:00 am everyone will follow the Lion dancers to parade down the street to the Children’s Museum of Northern Nevada where more activities will be available.

This program is free to the public. Admission to the museum is $8, free to members and children 17 years old and younger.
