USS Nevada BB-36 Collection

The USS Nevada Collection at the Nevada State Museum, Carson City, holds many unique artifacts from multiple donors throughout the decades, including the iconic USS Nevada Silver Service on permanent display in the History Gallery. These artifacts and archives help tell the story of this battleship and the men who proudly served on her decks.

We are currently processing the archives and memoirs of Dr. Charles T. Sehe, one of the last men to serve from December 7, 1941, to the campaigns of the Aleutian Islands in 1943 and through D-Day in Normandy. He is alive and well in Minnesota and is working every day to share the history of the battleship and his fellow servicemen.

In the coming months, we will be sharing selections from these collections.

Today we would like to share the USS Nevada Log from the book entitled, The War Diaries of the USS Nevada 1916-1946,  compiled by Bill Brinkley from material provided by Dick Ramsey who was a member of the 9th Division on board the USS Nevada, and Casper Paulus who was in the CR Division.
